MAYOR FENTON’S REPORT
FOR FEBRUARY 17, 2005
PUBLIC SAFETY
ON JANUARY 25TH
THERE WAS A MEETING HELD AT REPRESENTATIVE ANTHONY MELIO’S OFFICE. PRESENT WERE
PENN DOT OFFICIALS, SENATOR TOMLINSON’S OFFICE, TOWNSHIP OFFICIALS AND MYSELF.
AT THE MEETING WE DISCUSSED THE ROUTE 413 PUNCH LIST INCLUDING THE GUARDRAIL
AND SIDE WALK; LIGHTS; LIGHTING AND PECO; AND DRIVEWAYS.
I HAVE REQUESTED THAT
CHIEF MCANDREW PLACE THE SPEED NOTIFICATION UNIT AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS ALONG
ROUTE 413 TO HELP ENFORCE THE SPEED LIMIT WHICH IS 35 MPH.
I ASKED SENATOR
TOMLINSON’S OFFICE TO SUPPORT A MONUMENT FOR OUR VETERANS AND A FLAG POLE AND
WELCOME SIGN AT THE EXIT OF I-95 WHERE THERE ARE PRESENTLY WEEDS.
WE ARE CONTINUING TO
MOVE FORWARD ON THE DESIGN OF THE INTERSECTION OF ROUTE 13 AND GREEN LANE. THE
DESIGN WILL INCLUDE LEFT TURN ARROWS AT THIS LOCATION. ALSO BEING REQUESTED ARE
TURNING ARROWS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF ROUTE 13 AND EDGELY AVENUE; AND ROUTE 13
AND HAINES ROAD.
DISCUSSED ALSO WAS AN
EMERGENCY VEHICLES TURN AROUND ON
I-95.
WE WILL CONTINUE
MEETING UNTIL ALL ISSUES ARE RESOLVED.
DEVELOPMENT
ON JANUARY 25, 2005 I
MET WITH DEVELOPERS WHO PURCHASED THE PETER LUMBER PROPERTY. WE SPOKE ABOUT
POSSIBLE USES SUCH AS FAMILY STYLE RESTAURANTS, A BANK, AND POSSOBILITY A CRACKER
BARREL, ECT.
MET WITH PROJECT
MANAGERS FROM R. T. HOMES, I THINK IT IS A GOOD PROJECT AND IS LOOKING FORWARD
TO WORKING WITH THE COUNCIL TO SEE THIS PROJECT TO MOVE FORWARD. I DID HAVE ONE
CONCERN THAT THE FRONT AREA ON ROUT 13 BE COMMERCIAL AND ANY OTHER PROPERTY
THEY MAY OBTAIN BE COMMERCIAL. THIS WOULD SUPPORT THE HOUSING PROJECT TO MAKE A
NICE USAGE SUCH AS A BANK, DRUG STORE, CONVIENCE STORE, OR OFFICE SPACE.
