Economic Development

Preferred Real Estate Investments announced that it has completed its acquisition of Rohm And Haas’s Bristol Technology Center (BTC) on route 413 in the township. Preferred real estate will transform this portion of the Rohm And Haas site into THE BRIDGE BUSINESS CENTER, a class “A” corporate center for office, research and development, light manufacturing, and retail uses. Preferred will acquire five buildings, totaling 275,000 square feet on 28 acres of land.

The Bridge Business Center is preferred’s second active redevelopment in the Bristol area. the first, island view crosing, is just up the street in Bristol Borough.

Located in a bucks county enterprise zone, the bridge business center  is earmarked to receive economic aid for the creation of new jobs. the project is expected to create 300 new jobs in bristol township, bringing the community a significant injection of economic revitalization. since adaptive reuse of existing buildings provides for a lower cost basis over new construction, future tenants of The Bridge Business Center will experience a direct economic savings realized through highly competitive rents.

Preferred’s redevelopment of the site encompasses new base building work, tenant improvement work, and site work, including landscaping, improved access, and partial demolition of existing buildings to improve parking capacity. the entire redevelopment is slated for completion in december of 2005.

Also, in June the pre-construction preview of the new Lower Bucks Campus Bucks County Community College, route 413 and I-95, will be unveiled. We are thankful to the bucks county board of commissioners, Charles Martin; Jim Cawley, And Sandy Miller for “fulfilling our promise.”
