Public Works
        Jason Lawson
        Director of Public Works

The Department of Public Works is essentially a service organization endeavoring to successfully meet the needs of the citizens of Bristol Township.

This department is responsible for the maintenance of 170 miles of roads (more than many small cities) as well as an extensive greenbelt system. This entails not only the road surface repairs and grass cutting, but also keeping these areas as debris free as possible.

We are also involved in the maintenance of several miles of open drainage ditches, along with a large underground drainage system. Not to be forgotten are snow removal and the maintenance of several buildings that the township owns.

We are also responsible for Traffic Safety Maintenance and Recreation Maintenance. The Animal Control Officer also works out of this department.

These duties are performed by a staff of 22 people and approximately 25 vehicles or pieces of equipment.

To report a pot hole or other roadway concern on a Bristol Township road you can call the Public Works Department at (215) 785-2758.

For a Pennsylvania state highway, you can call the PennDOT toll-free pothole hotline at 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). Potholes are not the only road concern you can report on the hotline. Customers can use the hotline number for any reason, including:

  • Deer carcass removal
  • Pothole patching
  • Brush and tree removal
  • Shoulder and drainage concerns
  • Signage issues
  • Other maintenance needs
  • Information about volunteer programs like Adopt-A-Highway
  • Complaints and compliments
